It was early in the morning when Dakota slipped from the Slytherin common room and out into the dungeons, her little kitten following right at her heels. She pulled her robes tighter around her to stave off the cold of the dungeons as the young woman started walking, heading in the direction of the nearest set of stairs. It was around six thirty, probably when most students were getting up but Kota had always been one to sleep less than the other students.
The fifth year continued moving up flight after flight of stairs, not really paying attention to how many it was. Eventually she moved off the stairs and just walked along a corridor. A soft meow brought Dakota out of her gaze and she quickly looked down at her kitten. "Hey Marcus," she whispered as she leaned down to gather the cat in her arms. She went to the closest window and sat down in the sill. Kota stared out the window over the grounds as she pet the soft, tiny cat in her arms.

A boy walked up the staircase and passed her, then walking backwards and glanced at her. "What're you doing out here..and this early? he was curious as to why she was there at 6:34 in the morning. Now he couldn't talk, because he was up since 12:01, the beginning of the day.

As Dakota lost herself in the beauty of the early morning scene, her kitten got annoyed at being ignored and starting batting it's head against her chest and reaching up it's paws to gently hit her face. She chuckled and turned her attention back to him, leaning down to kiss the top of his head as he continued petting him. Only a moment later she heard a masculine voice and she looked up with a frown. "I don't see how that's your business."

Servius walked along the halls. He didn't really need to do anything right now but had just wanted to get out of his quarters for a while. He had mounted the stairs to the second floor and walked along slowly. Up ahead he spotted one of his students. Dakota he belived her name was. He was always fond with the students in his own house. It was obvious by the way he spoke to them and let them get away with things. Servius stopped beside Dakota and gently stroked the ears of the kitten. "Play nice, Dakota." He chasized softly.
