Harry was in the joke shop with Ron. They were glad that it was finally the weekend. School had been so boring lately. For Harry, that would have been a good thing. But as it stood, even Harry was looking for excitement. Ron wandered around the shop looks at all of the joke items, rubber wands, joke books, sick pellets. He was really just looking for something that his brothers had not yet created so that Ron could hold it over them. He liked a beating, that one.

Ella walked into the joke shop and smiled when she saw Harry. She looked around for awhile and finally walked over to Harry. "Hi." Ella said and smiled again but this time in front of him. "I'm Ella." She introduced herself and held her hand out. I hope this goes well. She thought, glancing around the store. Ella looked at Ron who was staring at her.

Harry looked at the Slytherin when she introduced herself. He had just been laughing at one of ron's jokes and no Ronald was silent and gazing at this girl too. None of the Slytherin's other then Blaise ever spoke to Harry of his friends. The boys were a little stunned. "Hi." Harry said slowly. "I'm Harry." He blushed slightly when some of the other shoppers in the store heard his name and turned to look at the scar on his forhead. Harry moved his hair to cover the scar quickly. He watched the girl wondering what she wanted to speak with him for.

Ella noticed all the people staring and suddenly got nervous. She glanced at the floor and then back up at him. "I was wondering if you would go to the Summer Ball with me?" She asked just loud enough for him to hear her. I was nervous enough and people just had to stare. Ugh. She looked at him blushing slightly and hoping for at least a soft letdown, if anything.

It took at second to sink in and then Ron burst out laughing. Harry blushed even more. He smacked Ron in the stomach to get him to shut up. Now people were really looking. Harry smiled shyly. Had it ever been know in the past for a Slytherin to ask out a Gryffindor? He doubted it. He could see the girl getting embarassed. "Sure." He said after a moment. Ron's laughted died instantly as he looked at his best friend in surprise. "I'll go to the ball with you. Thanks for asking me." He grinned.

Ella looked at Ron and then to Harry. She blushed a deep red and smiled. "Thanks. That means a lot."She answered. Ella looked at Ron's face and giggled. "Ron, your face might get stuck like that. Well, I'll go unless you want to hang out?"Ella directly asked Harry.

Harry looked at Ron and laughed. "No," He said. "His face always looks like that." Ron smiled a crooked smile and then went back to his joke items. "Well," He said to Ella. "If you don't have to go then we can hang out." Harry smiled. "I'd like to get to know the girl I'm going to the ball with." He added jokingly.

Ella blushed and nodded. "No i don't half to go. Where would you like to hang out?" She asked him as she smiled. "I'd like to get to know you as well."
That was cheesy. Ella thought to herself.
