A Date

[Mandy Brown]

"Why would you want to chase after me? Does she really do that?" She said, Mandy never understood why some girls acted like that to boys. It didn't make any sense to her, and she asked her mother about it once, but her mom couldn't explain it well. "I don't see why she would do that." Mandy said.

[Draco Malfoy]

Draco laughed. "Don't worry about it." He told her. They had reached the shop and Draco pulled open the door. He followed Mandy inside and then headed for the green section. Of course Draco would only want green and silver bedclothes for his bed in the castle. He began looking through the differnt paterns and chades of sheet sets. And then moved on to the comforters and pillows. Everything he had on his bed was fairly new but Draco liked to change things around sometimes. Draco had a sudden fit of silliness and grabbed a pillow. He tossed it at Mandy, hitting her in the arm. "Oh wow..." He said with a smile. "Did I do that?" He laughed. "Got to test how soft these are." He tossed a second one. Draco was interested to see what kind of huor Mandy had.

Mandy laughed and grabbed the first pillow off the ground and threw it softly at Draco. "You know, if you want to test how soft it is have to have a pillow fight. But a store may not be the best place for that." Mandy said grabbing a pillow and lightly hitting it on Draco's arm and smiled at him to show that she was joking.

Draco laughed and raised his attacked arm while grabbing a third pillow and hitting Mandy across the back with it. He ws luaghing when he saw the owner of the shop starting towards them. Draco put all the pillows back on the shelves. "Okay, lets shop." He said. "What do you like?"

Mandy put her pillow on the shelf, and smiled at the owner. "Shop, right that's what we are here to do. I like the blanket I have on my bed. My room at home is Silver and Green, all decorated by my mother. She is very happy I'm in Slytherin. And she likes to brag about it to her friends. Sometimes it's hard being an only child, but she also brags about Cara." Mandy said "I'm sorry. I talk a lot." Mandy said

"I'm an only child too." Draco said. "My mother had a hard labour with me and can't risk having any others." Draco picked a set of sheets up. "Show me what kind of blanket you have at home." Draco asked. "I don't really know what I want."

"That sucks. Don't you ever get lonely?" Mandy asked him. "It looks a lot like that." Mandy said pointing to the paisley looking blanket that was green and sliver. "But it's a little bit different, my mom had it made for me." Mandy said walking over and looking at it. She ran her hand over it and made a face, "Mine is also softer." She said not trying to be rude.

[Draco Malfoy]

Draco nodded. "I don't really mind. Another child would mean I'd get less attention." He shrugged. Draco moved over to the blanket Mandy had pointed out. It was a little to girlish for him but still nice. "Thats pretty." He said. His eyes then fell on a deep emerald green Blanket with silver silver underlayings. He liked it. It was thick and soft and should be warm. "What about this one?" He asked. A house elf hurried up behind him. The store had elves instead of shopping carts or baskets. Draco handed the pillows to the elf and picked up the blanket.

"That's beautiful." Mandy said nodding at the blanket that Draco had in his hands. "I think that you should get it." Mandy said she patted the elf lightly on the head, which at her house was a sign that they were doing a good job.

Draco nodded and added the blanket to the growing pile. He looked at Mandy and smiled. Draco liked being with Mandy but he wanted to do something more fun. Too bad there really wasn't anything for them to do that was exciting.

Mandy sighed when she thought about how they were going to half to go back to school. "I do not want to go back to school. Nothing fun ever happens." Mandy said frowning. "Think they have anything planned for this year?" Mandy asked, knowing that the answer was no, but still it couldn't hurt to ask.

[Ella Taylor]

Ella skipped into the shop not knowing anyone she knew was there. She smiled when she saw Draco and Mandy. "Mandy!"She shouted and ran over towards her. "Hi Mandy, hi Draco." She said and then suddenly remembered something Headmaster said earlier. "Oh. Oh. Oh. Guess what?" She asked them, slightly bouncing on her toes.

Draco had to smile. Even the house elf looked bewildered by this new adition to the group. "What?" He asked. He looked at Mamdy for a second. "Why are you so excited?" Draco was done shoping here. There was nothing else he wanted. He walked over to the witch who was ready to add up the cost of his selections.

[Ella Taylor]

Ella looked at Draco and smiled. "Well Headmaster was talking to uh.... I forgot but she said something about a Summer Ball. I was excited but no one was in the school that I wanted to tell." She said. "Isn't that cool?" She smiled looking around the shop.

When Ella came in Mandy looked up and smiled slightly. "Hey Ella." Mandy said she looked at Ella like she was a nut when she there was going to be a summer ball. "A summer ball? Why would we have a summer ball? We've never had one before." Mandy asked entirely confused by the whole thing.
