Draco was looking through the window at the new broom that had just come out. His mother and father were shopping for his new school supplies. He hated to do that for himself. Having to brush against all the mudbloods Hogwarts were letting in these days. He wished the school was still for purebloods. Draco scowled at the thought. He noticed out of the corner of his eye, a reflection of someone approaching.

Dakota was walking along Diagon Alley with her mother while one of their house elves went to get her school supplies. Neither of them liked shopping for anything school related and so just used one of their elves. After all, why would they do work when they could get someone else to do it for them? They were purebloods, they should be able to relax and have fun.
"Mother, I'm going to go look at the brooms," the young woman informed her mother before walking away. Kota had already memorized where the quidditch store was as she always went there when she was in Diagon Alley to see if there were new brooms. She headed over to the window, finding that easiest to see if there was anything she wanted. Dakota ignored the other person standing there, not even glancing at them as she exaimed the supplies in the window.

Draco turned back to the brooms. There was a new Nimbus 3002 hanging right infront of him and that was what he wanted. There was no question as to if he would get it. Draco always got what he wanted. "What do you fly?" He asked the shorter girl without looking at her. "I've seen you before haven't I?" He added. He was sure that she was a Slytherin like himself. "I'm Draco Malfoy."

Almost immediatly Dakota's eyes landed on the new broom and her lips turned up in a tiny smile. Perfect. She wanted that broom and she was going to get it, there was no way she wouldn't. Flying was always something she could do to relax and that looked like a great broom. Kota could just imagine herself flying that across the pitch.
The young woman was pulled out of her thoughts by a voice next to her. She turned her head slightly to look at the boy standing next to her with a superior look. Why was he talking to her? "Only the best," she answered his first question with a smirk. As he introduced himself, her superior atittude disappeared slightly. "You're a Malfoy?" She questioned, knowing that name from her study of pureblood families. "I'm sure we've seen each other around then. You are a Slytherin, right?" She asked, figuring that anyone good enough to carry a pureblood name would be in Slytherin, except those Weasley's, they were blood traitors. "I'm Dakota Graven."

Draco smirked slightly at her surprise at him being a Malfoy. "That is what I said." He answered. "and yes I am in the Slytherin House. My whole family was...give or take a few loose ends." He turned more towards the girl now. "So I take you are in Slytherin House?" Draco just then noticed His father motioning for him to hurry. Draco assumed they were going to eat. "Would you like to join my family and Myself for lunch?" He asked her. It couldn't hurt Draco thought to himself. He could now see His Mother and Father standing with a woman who looked slightly like Dakota. The woman watched Draco and Dakota as Draco started towards his parents.

Kota nodded slightly as he answered her question. Now that she looked at him he did look slightly familiar. They probably weren't in the same year though or else they'd have known each other better. "Yes I am in Slytherin. It's the only proper house at Hogwarts." Sure there were scatterings of other good people in other houses but Dakota automatically assumed that anyone in Slytherin would be someone proper to be seen around.
"I would like that," she agreed with a slight nod of her head. Kota turned to walk with Draco towards whom she assumed were his parents, the male did look like him. She also noticed her own mother standing with his parents. "It looks like our parents already know each other," she commented to the other Slytherin with a small chuckle.

"It does seem that way." Draco agreed. When they had reached their parents. Narcissa led them along Diagon Alley back towards the pub. "Mother." Draco said softly. "Whay don't we have the Graven's to our manor for lunch. We could flew there and the food would be much more apealing." Narcissa stopped and look at her son and then to Lucius who nodded. The three Malfoys looked towards Dakota's mother and waited.

As the pair reached the adults, Dakota's mother kissed her daughter cheek in greeting before Kota looked at Draco's parents. "Good day Mr and Mrs Malfoy," she greeted them with a polite smile. She had been taught manners and knew how to talk to other upper class people.
As the group walked along Diagon Alley, Dakota contented herself with watching the lesser people walking around. There were several people she recognized from Hogwarts but none of which she would lower herself to talking to. Her attention moved back to the Malfoys as they stopped. It was something about going to their manor for lunch, right? The young woman glanced at her mother's questioning expression and nodded slightly. "We would appreciate that if it wouldn't inconvience you," the elder Graven responded.

The small group headed into the pub and to the fireplace. Narcissa pulled a emerald green puch from her robe pocket and lifted a pinch of power from inside. "Draco," Lucius said nuddgeing Draco with the head of his silver snake cane. "Go first and greet our quests in the Manor." Draco knew beter then to ever argue with his father, so he nodded. The last time he had disagreed with his fathre, Draco had walked out of the fight with many bruises. Lucius could be quite violent when he wanted to be. Narcissa tossed the power into the fire and it shot high and green. Draco wondered briefly if Dakota and he mother had ever traveled this way before as he stepped into the flames. "Malfoy Manor." He said clearly and then was gone.

As the group walked into the pub Dakota looked around in complete disgust. She hated being seen in places like this. She much rather prefered higher class establishments but it would have to do for flooing. Dakota turned her attention away from the other inhabitants of the pub to watch as Draco stepped into the green flames. The young woman stepped up to the fireplace next and, after throwing powder in, stepped into the flames. "Malfoy Manor," she said clearly.
Dakota stepped out of the fireplace gracefully and stepped away from it so as not to be in the way of the next person to come through. She looked around the room contentedly, glad to be away from that disgusting pub and int better surroundings.

Draco had stepped back from the fireplace and now that Dakota was through, he moved to stand beside her. He noticed her looking around the room. They were in the living room. Black and brown leather couches were placed about the room with three mahogony coffee tables and four end tables around them. The large floor to ceiling bay windows looked out onto the spacious backyard and large chandiliers hung from the ceiling. A large phot of the family hung over the fire place and thick rugs were on the marble floor. All in all, it was a nice room. Narcissa came out of the fire place next and Draco instinctively reached out to steady her. Lucius would of course go last and then that left Dakota's mother. Narcissa summoned an elf and gave orders for lunch.

After Dakota had taken stock of her surroundings she turned her attention towards Draco who had moved to stand next to her. A moment later when Narcissa joined them Kota smiled politely at her. "You have a beautiful house Mrs Malfoy," she said sweetly, putting on a front as she always did in front of other purebloods. It always looked good to act nice.
When the young woman's mother stepped out of the fire, Dakota reached out to steady her and help her out of the fire. Kota may use the floo a good bit but her mother wasn't quite as used to it. It felt slightly odd to be at the house of a housemate whom she didn't truly known. The only times she went the another's house was if they were her mother's friends or if it was a close friend of Dakota's. She barely knew Draco, hadn't even spoken to him before that afternoon. Well perhaps they could get to known each other better now.

Narcissa nodded and smiled slightly. "Thank you, dear." She said politely. Moments later, Lucius was through and Narcissa led the way out of the living room. The floors in the hallways were solid wood as weer the walls. They had a reddish tint to them. Lucius had offered his arm to Dakota's mother and Draco walked beside Dakota. "After lunch, if you wish, we can go riding through our land. Or I could show you around. I'm sure Mother and father would like to get to know your mother better." They followed into the dining room. There were three house elves quickly setting four places at the long polished table. They bowed as the Malfoy's and Gravens entered the room.

Dakota calmly followed the adults while feeling vaguely uncomfortable. She didn't known how to react in this situtation and she rather wished she had time to buy that broom. Oh well, she might as well take advantage of this moment while she could. It was always good to make allies, maybe that was what Draco could be. She just wished they didn't have to get to know each other in front of their parents.
"Going riding sounds fun," she replied easily, giving him a small smile as she looked over at him. She took that moment to fully examine his appearance. She had to admit that he was attractive. Kota was pulled out of her assesment of him by their entrance into the dining room. This room was beautiful like the rest of the house she had seen. But it wasn't really surprising, most of her family's friends had beautiful homes.

Draco nodded. "It will be a chance for us to get to know eachother." He told her. They sat unformally. Draco and Narssisa on one side, Dakota and her mother on the other, and Lucius at the head of the table. The elves were back in seconds with platers of food. The brought out carved cornish hen along with vegitables, rice and bread. In the custom Draco had grown up in, Lucius began with the food. he took a piece and then passed the plater to Dakota and so on. When everyone had enough of what they wanted. They began eating.
